The soup for soup event

   the soup for soup night      Polmontsoup was a community wealth-building exercise aimed at demonstrating what our community can achieve when good people come together. The hub management wanted to showcase how the soup itself could embody our values. Our sustainability champion emphasised that the ingredients should align with our ethics of "soup with purpose," emphasising the importance of good ingredients for community wealth building, shopping local, and promoting circular economy ambitions.      Shared Futures, based near Manchester but working nationally, granted us £250 to promote Polmont’s ethical participatory budgeting event, Polmontsoup.   February just flew by at the hub.  On Sunday, the 1st of February, the management team was welcomed to a meeting with soup provided by the Quakers. On Wednesday, the 4th of February, Kenny had the Environmental Leadership Lab lunch at the Botanical Gardens, where our sustainability champion met the funders and other groups countrywide looking to network, on environmental and sustainability transition projects. Also on that day, work on the refurbishment of the changing rooms into the new Top Toes Clinic began. This was done over the course of the weekend, and now, a month later, we are awaiting a snagging fix list to be completed  The next day, we had a meeting with the Scottish Book Trust regarding a digital storytelling workshop. We also met with a potential beekeeper and hosted a visit from a photographer. As the representative body for social enterprises in Scotland, we are growing a collaborative movement so that all social enterprises have a stronger collective voice. Social enterprises are innovative, independent businesses that exist to deliver a specific social and/or environmental mission. Their profits are reinvested in their mission.
